Hello Fellow Collectors!
My family has been collecting the Lotte Sievers-Hahn crèche since my childhood, buying a piece or two every year for 50 years or so. It is one of my most treasured belongings. When I started my own family, my children began their love affair with this enchanting Christmas tradition so we are now in our third generation of collecting.
In December 2013, when I went downtown here in New Orleans to the store where I had been buying for all of those years, I was dismayed to find that Margaret DeBlieux, whom many of you know, was retiring and Cezar/The Magi would be closed. I was devastated and, truth be told, a little panicked about being cut off from my source. The short version of this story is that I went down to buy a pheasant and came home with a business! I set up my little business from home, hoping The Magi’s customers would find me and that I could keep them happy and adequately supplied with figures.
Fast forward a few months and, out of curiosity, I snooped on my competitor, German Handcraft Imports, to find that they too were closing shop. Next thing I knew, I was the proud owner of yet another purveyor of Lotte Sievers-Hahn. I am now a veritable crèche magnate!
Margid and Rodney’s care and generosity during the transition was a gift and I hope I can operate at the exceptional level of service to which you have become accustomed.
I appreciate the kindness of those who have expressed their gratitude and I look forward knowing you and working with you for many years to come.
