About Us

Hello Fellow Collectors!

My family has been collecting the Lotte Sievers-Hahn crèche since my childhood, buying a piece or two every year for 50 years or so. It is one of my most treasured belongings. When I started my own family, my children began their love affair with this enchanting Christmas tradition and, with the arrival of my first grandchild early next year, we will begin our fourth generation of collecting.

A little bit of history: In December 2013, when I went downtown here in New Orleans to the store where I had been buying for all of those years, I was dismayed to find that Margaret DeBlieux, whom many of you know, was retiring and Cezar/The Magi would be closed. I was devastated and, truth be told, a little panicked about being cut off from my source. The short version of this story is that I went down to buy a pheasant and came home with a business! I set up my little business from home, hoping The Magi’s customers would find me and that I could keep them happy and adequately supplied with figures.

Fast forward a few months and, out of curiosity, I snooped on my competitor, German Handcraft Imports, to find that Margid and Rodney were closing shop as well. Next thing I knew, I was the proud owner of yet another purveyor of Lotte Sievers-Hahn.

This will be my sixth Christmas in business and I have loved every minute. The stories you share about the origins of and traditions around your nativities warm my heart. Watching your collections take shape in such personal ways delights me. I am honored to stand on the shoulders of Margaret, Margid, and Rodney and hope I have operated at the exceptional level of service to which you were accustomed.

I appreciate the kindness of those who have expressed their gratitude and I look forward to knowing you and working with you for many years to come.
